Have you been staring at that bare corner of your backyard every time you go outside to enjoy the nice weather? You know…the area beside the pond where it doesn’t look quite finished. A neighbor mentioned something about a water fountain where water gently cascades over the edges. Now you can’t stop picturing a stone bubbler with trickling water creating a serene environment.
That’s when you decide to pick up the phone and call us here at Bluegrass Incorporated. We’re the premier custom landscaping company who has been enhancing Northeast Ohio outdoor living spaces for over 30 years with irrigation systems, water features, LED landscape lighting, inground pool installation, artificial grass, pet fencing, automatic screens, and so much more.
What’s a Bubbler?

You want something big that draws the eye, not just another fountain kit from a big-box store. You mention wanting a bubbler, half expecting to have to describe it further, but we know exactly what you mean. We go on to describe natural stone or rock features that typically stand four to seven feet tall and have water rising gently from the top, sheeting down the surface into a pond or basin that sits under it. It's less about spraying water everywhere and more about creating a peaceful retreat. It’s a sculptural centerpiece that makes a quiet, constant sound.
Are There Sizing and Stone Options?
When it comes to sizing, a four-foot piece tends to suit smaller ponds or tucked-away garden corners, like something you would notice on a walk but isn’t so big that it dominates the space. On the other hand, if you decide on six or seven feet, you're talking about a true focal point, the kind of stone that anchors an entire backyard and gets noticed from the kitchen window and even the street.

Are you most curious about the stone itself? We provide options like rugged basalt columns with natural vertical lines, smoother fieldstone boulders that look like they tumbled into place by accident, or quartzite pieces that catch light differently depending on the time of day. Every stone is unique. We then drill and fit them with a hidden plumbing core that recirculates water from a basin hidden beneath the surface. That means there's no visible hose or pump.
Then you wonder if your bubbler needs a pond? Not necessarily. Plenty of homeowners install a standalone bubbler with its own buried reservoir, making it a self-contained feature sitting in a garden bed or near an entryway. It does fit right in, however, if you already have a pond. You can even gather a small cluster of stones at different heights for a more dramatic look.
But can you afford it!
You might be afraid of the cost, but we’ll always be upfront and honest. It really is dependent upon the stone you choose and its size, but we walk you through the ranges for each detail so that you aren’t left guessing. You tell us what your budget is and we’ll discuss your possibilities! Installation itself is often wrapped up in a day or two.

Bubblers have lower maintenance than you might expect, too. It's mostly keeping the basin topped off with water and clearing the occasional leaf or twig from the pump intake. Algae and mineral buildup can show up over time depending on your water source, but simple seasonal cleaning keeps the stones looking the way they did on day one. Winter care during the cold months we get requires that the pump be drained and the system shut down before the first hard freeze to avoid cracking. That’s all!
Here at Bluegrass, we’ll come visit to see your space, talk through stone and setup options in person, and give you a real sense of scale before anything is decided. Once you agree, you head back outside to look at that bare corner one more time. It doesn't feel empty anymore. It feels like it's just waiting. Soon it will deliver the most soothing sounds and bring a whole new vibe to your outdoor living space. Call us at (330) 492-8733 for an estimate or visit our website.
